librarian of a library that owns and alters books that holds people's futures. in charge of getting rid of books when people pass away and altering the pages when somebody takes a different path than intended by fate, but cannot physically explain how he knows anything about life stories to anybody else. tells people their futures if they offer him a hefty sum, but usually sugarcoats their death or completely lies about it to not break anybody's heart. doesn't like to give out much personal information about himself, including his name, often giving out false alisases and information so that he isn't blamed for people's deaths or tragedies. his father is the one who taught him how to take care of the library and how to organize how he wrote books and things, but drowned himself as soon as cato could do it on his own. since cato's mother had left after he was born, that left him an orphan at seventeen, and he's lived in his lonesome in his gigantic library since.

canonically his father drowned himself as soon as cato knew how to do his job correctly, unable to bare the idea that he knew how his own son was going to die, and his mother left when cato was born, not wanting to be involved in the family business of knowing people's life stories. cato has no siblings, and no children. |
